Netflix has made its first ever acquisition, buying the Scottish comic book company behind Kick-Ass and Kingsman as a strategic move to own and develop its own universe of superhero TV series and films with Millarworld. Marvel TV shows such as Jessica Jones, Luke Cage and Daredevil have been proven to be some of the most popular Netflix viewers. The American entertainment company did not disclose the amount it paid for Millarworld but intends to turn its portfolio of character franchises into films and children’s shows. Walt Disney releases its third Quarter Earnings for the fiscal quarter ended June 2017 and earnings per share is expected to be at $1.55.

The U.S. releases its JOLTs job openings for the month of June at 14:00 GMT, a survey carried by the U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics. Elsewhere, McDonald’s stated it will increase the number of stores in mainland China from 2,500 to 4,500 by the end of 2022. This will help the multinational firm to achieve “double-digit sales growth in China every year for the next five years.” Tesla, on the other hand, plans to boost its revenues with another $1.5bn, despite having $3bn in cash to fund the production of its new Model 3 car. The U.S. electric car manufacturer has already got 518,000 orders for its new car.
The U.S. President sends a formal notice to UN to pull America out of the Paris agreement last Friday. Meanwhile, an investigation has found potent climate warming gases being emitted into the atmosphere. The Paris climate deal has been signed by 195 countries in December 2015, and it is a requirement that every country has to submit “an inventory of its greenhouse-gas emissions every two years.”
